Wassup?

NaNoWriMo, Revisited

I might not be able to do it after all.

I was getting really excited about trying to write a novel in a month. Really excited.

Granted, I had zero plotlines or characters in my head, but I was sure they’d come to me. It was going to be refreshing delving back into the literary world, or at least entertaining the idea.

But looking at my ever-growing list of things that need to be crafted (for Loin Cloth and as gifts) before Christmas, I don’t think I can do it.

*sigh*

Maybe I’ll write a poem or short story instead.

NANOWRIMO!!!

Oh yeah.

I used to fancy myself a writer. I still dream of being published. A lot, actually. I think it can be done.

I started a novel a million years ago. It languished, and I eventually just abandoned it. I moved on to poetry, and that has been my mainstay for at least a decade.

I still dream of writing a novel. Or several.

I mean, I have a million thoughts in my head. My internal dialogue has a prolific word count. Sometimes the sheer amount of purple prose coming out of my brain is enough to scare even the greatest pulp authors of yesteryear.

So I think I might do this: NANOWRIMO.

NANOWRIMO = National Novel Writing Month. Write a 50,000 word novel between November 1st and November 30th. You’re aiming for word count, not a slot in the western literary canon.

Someone commit to doing this with me!!!

Whole, Once More

And my blog is my blog again. Finally.

After I had to dismantle my previous blog (due to manipulative skanks stalking it and using its info for badness), I lamented over the loss of some really great posts.

Well, this afternoon I finally figured out what to do — I just imported them. Wasn’t that hard, just a little time consuming. And now, my blog is my blog again.

I incorporated forty or fifty old blog posts into this blog, all dated their original post date. It was kind of nice going back over some of them. It was harder, reading some of the ones about my mom. Actually, anything to do with mama is still extremely hard. JR wanted to talk about her and look at her pictures yesterday, and I couldn’t. I just couldn’t.

Anyway, if you feel like browsing, go through my blog; you might find something you haven’t read before.
