How do I thank the person
who has walked beside me all this time
aiding me when I falter in step
comforting me when I fall and scrape myself
carrying me when I can go no further
and keeping pace when I run ahead
for that person is you
and I want nothing else but to thank you.

I look back on the distance covered and
I realize I couldn’t have made it quite as far
were it not for you.
