We took the kids to the Tanana Valley State Fair. It was amazing.
First up was the petting zoo area in the barn.
These sheep were comically loud.
There were these cashmere goats that the kids were just CRAZY about. I mean, they really really loved them. Another little boy came up at one point trying to get a good look at them and Camilla gave him this totally dirty look. Too funny.
Next up of course were the kiddie rides & attractions!
We ate fair food, wandered through the sale booths, laughed at the kids’ antics, thoroughly enjoying ourselves. When we stopped for food, there was a GI at our table who hit it off with the kids, and even gave JR a stuffed Grumpy doll he’d won from the “guess your age” guy. Nice guy. I would have invited him for a dinner sometime but he disappeared into the crowd before I’d gotten the chance. One of JR’s favorite things was when we got him some kettle corn. Camilla eventually passed out in the Ergo on Daddy’s back. Everyone was worn out by the end of the day. There was a kiddie meltdown (of course) but I talked him down. It eventually rained (of course) but was tons of fun overall. We are totally looking forward to the fair next year!
