NANOWRIMO!
I started. Sort of verbal diarrhea, but I think that’s part of the point. Must get the small one back to sleep, then maybe I’ll write more.
I didn’t think I’d be this excited. I’m downright giddy.
I might not be able to do it after all.
I was getting really excited about trying to write a novel in a month. Really excited.
Granted, I had zero plotlines or characters in my head, but I was sure they’d come to me. It was going to be refreshing delving back into the literary world, or at least entertaining the idea.
But looking at my ever-growing list of things that need to be crafted (for Loin Cloth and as gifts) before Christmas, I don’t think I can do it.
*sigh*
Maybe I’ll write a poem or short story instead.
Because I forgot to post a link or pictures.

Ok. I think I’m officially in love with the Schleich toy collection.
At Joann’s yesterday, I came across some animal figurines. I got two — a Freisian horse and an elephant — for JR because he loves animals.
Holy amazingness, did they go over well! JR LOVES them!
We just ordered an 8 piece farm life set, and I can’t wait for them to get here!
I’ve just spent a ton of time browsing the Schleich site oogling all the other cool animals they have.
Homemade hand salve.
Leaves skin SO soft. And totally customizable. (Is customizable a word?)
Herb-infused olive oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil, beeswax, and essential oils. And, in my personal little tub separate from the boys’, some perfume oil.
John’s hands are so dry and cracked, and JR has some eczema behind his knees. John doesn’t like floofy smelling products, and really who can blame him. Too many additives & it wouldn’t be good for JR’s eczema. So I made our own.
It’s cooling in jars right now.
I put some on my hands & elbows, and WOW. This may be all I use from here on out. And I can use it on JR’s tushie, too.
Awesome.
JR never ceases to amaze me.
Daddy and I were in an absolute state of bliss last night when, out of nowhere, JR started laughing in his sleep. This went on for a couple minutes. Hearty belly laughs, with a huge smile on his face. Completely asleep.
Oh, what I would give to see his beautiful baby dreams.
Oh yeah.
I used to fancy myself a writer. I still dream of being published. A lot, actually. I think it can be done.
I started a novel a million years ago. It languished, and I eventually just abandoned it. I moved on to poetry, and that has been my mainstay for at least a decade.
I still dream of writing a novel. Or several.
I mean, I have a million thoughts in my head. My internal dialogue has a prolific word count. Sometimes the sheer amount of purple prose coming out of my brain is enough to scare even the greatest pulp authors of yesteryear.
So I think I might do this: NANOWRIMO.
NANOWRIMO = National Novel Writing Month. Write a 50,000 word novel between November 1st and November 30th. You’re aiming for word count, not a slot in the western literary canon.
Someone commit to doing this with me!!!
